Job Description:
Our client is a purpose-built 24-bedded Centre designed specifically for the physically disabled to provide short-term respite care for people with Multiple Sclerosis.

This is an exciting position for a Registered Nurse whose primary interest is in hands-on delivery of care.

This post is for Night duties.
Hours are worked on a flexible rota between 9.45pm and 7.45am (30 hrs/wk in week 1 and 20 hrs/wk in week 2).

You will be a fundamental member of the care delivery team and your role will initially be to support the senior nurse-in-charge on the floor providing for the day-to-day care needs of short-stay Guests with Multiple Sclerosis.

On successful completion of your 6 month probationary period, you will have acquired the necessary skills to take charge of the Centre whilst on shift, providing hands-on leadership to achieve effective management of staff and operations.

Our client will provide a friendly and stimulating working environment, full induction and ongoing training as well as the opportunity to learn about this specialist area of neurology.

Permanent staff are entitled to five weeks paid holiday, plus the equivalent of eight statutory holiday days.

Salaries are on an incremental scale, and include an enhancement for unsocial hours working (26% of salary for working night duty).

This equates to an annual salary of £27,198 per annum rising to £31,597 at the top of the scale (full-time hours, reduced pro-rata).

Due to the specialism of caring for people with MS, it is important that applicants are able to commit to an equivalent number of contracted hours on day and evenings shifts for a negotiable period depending upon relevant experience in order to acquire the necessary skills and competencies for this in-charge role.

- RGN / SEN - Registered member of the NMC
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year Professional post-qualification - Staff management experience - Good Communication skills - Neuro Disability experience (desirable) - IT literacy in Microsoft office (desirable)
