NurseFindersUK realises the difficulties of arriving in a new country to start a new career. Foreign airports can be daunting places. We will therefore organise, free of charge, a personalised chauffeur service to take you from any London airport to your accommodation within the London area. We have an extremely reliable and friendly chauffeur who will make your first few hours in London much more relaxing and ensure that you get to your destination without any complications.
NurseFindersUK can in many cases help fund your flights to the UK. This depends on which of our client hospitals you use. You can get more information on this service from your dedicated recruitment consultant when you register.
Travelling within London
As soon as you arrive in London you will need to discover the best way to get around this large city.
Invariably travel will involve the London Underground or "tube". A full map can be found here (Adobe Acrobat PDF file). Further information on the tube can be found here. This site has a useful tool called the "Tube Guru" which can highlight all local attractions to a tube station of your choice, be it where you are living or working. Try it here.
The bus service in London is excellent and inexpensive. Your traditional double decker red London bus can take you anywhere you wish to go throughout the city for 1. For more information on fares and routes click here.
NurseFindersUK would strongly recommend that whilst in London if you are using a taxi that you use only black cabs and never use any private mini cab service, unless it is one that you have telephoned for one from home. There are many unlicensed mini cab firms operating throughout London and some are unsafe and can be expensive. For safety and to be sure you are paying the right amount for your trip we would suggest using the Black cabs. More information can be found here.
We have teamed up with Expedia.co.uk to help you with your travel arrangements to the UK.
